By train:
Egham is 37 minutes from London Waterloo train station. Fast trains to Egham (final destination Reading) depart from Waterloo at 20 and 50 minutes past the hour (and arrive at 57 and 27 minutes past respectively).

On arrival at Egham station, taxis can be found on the station forecourt adjacent to platform 1. (Trains from London arrive over the footbridge on platform 2). To request a taxi, call Gemini Cars on + 44 (0)1784 47 11 11. The taxi fare from the station to Royal Holloway is approx £5. Royal Holloway is a 20 minute walk from Egham station. A description and map of the recommended route can be found here.

By Taxi:
Gemini Cars are a reliable local firm (+ 44 (0)1784 471111). They accept payments in cash or by credit card and taxis can be booked in advance from airports, train stations and other central London locations.

By Air:
London Heathrow airport is only 7 miles from Royal Holloway. We recommend you use this airport if possible. Two buses connect the airport with the Royal Holloway campus: - no. 71 from Terminal 5 (stop 9) and no. 441 from the Heathrow Central Bus Station. The famous London Black cabs are plentiful at Heathrow airport but it is cheaper to pre-book a transfer with Gemini Cars (see above). If you would like to share a transfer to or from London Heathrow, please let Hannah have your flight details and she will endeavour to put you in touch with other delegates arriving or leaving around the same time as you.

All airlines operating in and out of Heathrow offer assistance for disabled passengers. If you book this service in advance with your airline, a member of staff will meet you at the aircraft door and escort you through immigration and baggage reclaim and on to the next leg of your onward journey.

Gemini Cars also offer transfers from other London airports (Gatwick, Stansted, City and Luton). Please ask Hannah if you would like information about public transport to Royal Holloway from these airports.

By Car:
Royal Holloway is on the A30 and is easily accessible from the M25, the M4 and the M40. Parking is available on campus but this must be booked in advance. Please let Hannah know if you require parking.

Once you have arrived...

Delegates arriving on Friday and Saturday should go to Founders’ Reception (economy rooms in Founders) or The Hub main reception (standard rooms in Gowar). Founders is no. 1 on the campus plan; the Hub is no. 41 and Gowar Hall is no. 48. Check in is from 2pm and check-out on the day of departure is by 10am. There is luggage storage in both Founders and The Hub and during the conference itself luggage can also be stored in the Management Building. Breakfast on Saturday 27th, Sunday 28th and Wednesday 1st July for those who are staying extra nights will be served in The Hub (no. 41) for both economy and standard delegates. Delegates arriving on Sunday or Monday should collect their room keys from the Management Building Foyer (no. 12 on the campus plan) where the conference is taking place. Breakfast for residential delegates and guests on Monday and Tuesday will be served in the Management Building Foyer.

On campus you will find several shops and services. There are also lots of places selling food and drink. See a list of cafes and bars here. There are also two cash points where you can withdraw British pounds.

Royal Holloway is a five-minute walk from the pretty village of Englefield Green (use the footbridge by the main College entrance to cross the A30, then walk left up the A30 (uphill) and turn right at the junction.) Englefield Green has basic shops (newsagent, grocery store, chemist) and a good range of eating and drinking options.

The town of  Egham is a ten minute walk down the hill, and has lots more shops as well as an excellent rage of food and drink. Please ask Hannah for recommendations.

Some of England's most famous tourist destinations (Windsor Castle, Legoland) are close to Royal Holloway: read about exploring the local area here.
